Gloria Coates

Hello! This is my blog about 20th century composer Gloria Coates and her musical career. At the top of this home page are several tabs which will allow you to read about Coates and listen to lots of her music. I have also included links to purchase her music if you would like to study them in depth! Sadly her music is not yet in the public domain like many composers from the classical and romantic periods, but it is readily available for purchase.

As for myself, my name is Aaron Jordan and I am a student currently studying classical music at UCI. I am primarily interested in performance practice and developing my technical abilities, but I am also pursuing education in hopes of securing a job in the general field of music education. Besides this, I love any opportunities I get to enrich my musical knowledge through music I am unfamiliar with, whether it be about specific composers, performers, history, or cultural context. This blogpost is an opportunity for me to do just that, and I am excited to share my findings! I hope you enjoy!
